Who we are

Lapnotes is an AI karting analysis tool currently in beta, run as a small private project. By using it you agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

What we collect

  • Account info: the email address and password you sign up with.
  • Team / driver / kart data: anything you type into the app — driver names, weights, kart setup, track notes.
  • Telemetry uploads: .xrk (or legacy CSV) files you upload from AIM Race Studio 3 and the metrics derived from them (lap times, speed, RPM, throttle, etc.).
  • Feedback: messages you send via the Send Feedback button, along with your email and the page you sent them from.
  • Error / diagnostic data: when something crashes we record the error, browser, OS, IP address, and a short trail of recent actions (so we can debug). No telemetry contents are sent with crash reports.
  • Usage analytics & session recordings: how you move through the app — pages viewed, clicks, and anonymized session replays — so we can see where the product is confusing and fix it. What you type into form fields (emails, passwords, notes) is masked and never recorded.

How we use it

  • To run AI analysis on your telemetry when you click "Run AI Analysis".
  • To show you your historical sessions and trends.
  • To send occasional getting-started emails about uploading your first session (only if you haven't uploaded yet) — you can unsubscribe in one click at any time.
  • To debug issues and improve the product.
  • To respond to feedback you send us.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or train AI models on it.

Third parties

We share data only with the services we depend on to run Lapnotes:
  • Supabase — stores your account, drivers, karts, sessions, and analyses in a hosted Postgres database.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — receives your telemetry summary and kart setup when you run an AI analysis, returns the analysis text.
  • Vercel — hosts the web app and serves it to your browser.
  • Sentry — receives error reports when the app crashes (browser info, stack trace, recent actions).
  • PostHog — receives product-analytics events and masked session recordings so we can understand how the app is used and where to improve it.
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We don't share data with anyone else.

Data retention

  • Your data stays in our database for as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, your drivers, karts, sessions, and analyses are deleted immediately and irreversibly.
  • Feedback messages may be kept indefinitely (they're how we improve the product), but anonymized after account deletion.
  • Crash reports in Sentry expire after 30 days on the free tier.

Your rights

At any time you can:
  • Export your data as JSON via Account Settings.
  • Delete your account and all associated data via Account Settings.
  • Contact us via the Send Feedback button to ask questions.

Children

Lapnotes is not intended for users under 13. If you're a parent managing a junior karter's data, please be aware that you're responsible for what's stored.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we'll show a notice in the app on your next login. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.

This policy is written in plain language for a small private beta. It is not legal advice. If you need formal data-processing agreements (e.g. for a sponsor or organization), please contact us via the Feedback button.
